Colour, Materials & Beauty Researcher

Stylus / London

We are looking for an enthusiastic, adaptable researcher to work across our Colour & Materials and Beauty teams. This is an exciting and varied role that will encompass writing, visual research and website production responsibilities, with the opportunity to travel and attend industry events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and collate image and text-based research
  • Analyse and implement findings, presenting to the wider team
  • Write blog posts and reports as required
  • Catwalk beauty analysis during fashion week season
  • Manage magazine, catalogue, colour library and material archive
  • Tagging and building reports in the CMS (content management system)
  • Contribute to team-based trends days and collaborative projects

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educated to at least degree level in a creative discipline
  • At least one year’s experience in the creative industry, with trend forecasting experience a plus
  • Self-starting worker who is able to contribute to the teams as and when required, with the confidence to communicate and implement findings
  • Excellent research skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • A strong visual eye and enthusiasm for colour, materials and aesthetics 
  • Good analytical writing skills, ideally with experience of writing short-form content like blog posts

Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage marketing budgets and targets for all events ensuring budget is always up to date.
  • Ensure marketing objectives are met to time and budget, carrying out regular analysis of activity undertaken and applying results as appropriate.
  • Evaluate customer research, market conditions and competitor data, and implement marketing plan alterations as needed.
  • Review current marketing processes with a view to proposing new and innovative solutions to maximise team efficiency and return on investment.

  • Support sales lead generation campaigns and execution of sales materials.

  • Manage third party supplier responsible for website development.
  • Ensure website content is relevant and up-to-date.
  • Manage all website marketing and promotion such as SEO, PPC, etc, ensuring we are competitive with our peers.


  • Manage contact database including list sourcing, data cleaning and general database development ensuring all data is stored in compliant manner.
  • Ensure correct campaign emails are sent to the appropriate audience using the database information to maximise campaigns.

Partnerships & Influencers:

  • Identify strategic industry partners to increase marketing reach, developing relationships with trade associations and industry organisations.
  • Manage event speakers in the lead up to and on the day of events.
  • Develop and manage appropriate influential media partnerships.


  • Identify appropriate PR service providers and work with them to develop a PR strategy for all events globally.
  • Make recommendations for external advertising outlets and budget accordingly; place ads and monitor effectiveness.
  • Manage online and digital marketing including social media using analytics from Sprout Social, Tableau, Google Analytics, Mail Chimp, Survey Monkey and any other relevant programmes to ensure maximum web efficiency.
  • Have an active social media presence. Contribute to, and when needed, manage the social media marketing channels.

Campaign Planning:

  • Develop and manage all direct mail and email campaigns including content subscriber engagement newsletters, with emphasis on testing to optimise future campaigns.

Market Knowledge:

  • Read all relevant media in market sector including online publications and blogs.
  • Visit the top clients to understand their business requirements as well as challenges faced and wider information/ /intelligence needs.


  • Provide regular weekly and monthly progress updates on campaigns and initiatives.
  • Attend and contribute to event / marketing / content meetings.
  • Regularly share information / ideas / feedback to senior managers.

Working Standards:

  • Ensure that all communication reflects the brand values and the market in which they serve.
  • Ensure all communications are in-line with the agreed specific marketing / PR campaigns for each event.
  • Maximise opportunities for cross promotion across the wider SMG group.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years marketing experience, within a start-up and/or events business preferable.
  • Passionate about creative, innovative and tech industries.
  • A self-starter who works on their own initiative.
  • Deadline drive and well-organised with strong time-management skills.
  • Superb copywriting skills with strong attention to detail.

Content / Picture Researcher

Stylus / London

At Stylus, we identify and connect the most important global trends across 20 industries to help our clients understand how attitudes and behaviours affect products and services, and how consumers engage with the world around them. 

We are looking for a Content / Picture Researcher to support our busy Content team. This is a new role for a graduate with an excellent eye for visuals, an interest in trends research, and the ability to multitask like a pro. 

You will have a working knowledge of design software, excellent communication skills (you will be regularly contacting third parties including PRs and press offices), a problem-solving nature, and the ability to work efficiently. You’ll also be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and supporting the Content team in a variety of ways, including picture research, image tagging, report and presentation building, and other ad-hoc tasks. 

A can-do attitude is essential for this role. Training will be provided, but a working knowledge of CMS would be an advantage, as would knowledge of colour systems.

Stylus Media Group is growing and has a need for an enthusiastic person with strong administration skills, and a willingness to learn to help support its office management function. Key Responsibilities:

Administration support for Executive Office:

  • Administrative and clerical support including filtering requests, preparing documents and correspondence, filing, scanning, responding to emails.
  • Assisting with diary management for Executive Office, including arranging and coordinating meetings.
  • Supporting the SMG management team with administration requirements including co-ordination of meetings and travel arrangements when require.

  • Act as the first point of contact for external and internal contacts, dealing with routine enquiries from SMG direct office line, screening calls, taking accurate messages and ensuring that they are passed on promptly.
  • Act as receptionist for a wide range of visitors, entering visitors onto Skyvisitor log,  greeting and directing and dealing with queries; maintaining security awareness.
  • Maintain meeting rooms, meeting room schedules, room set up and arranging refreshments for meetings when required.
  • Support office management with general offices duties, such as maintenance of office equipment and supplies, liaising with appropriate colleagues or contractors regarding any faulty equipment and dealing with any other general office related issues that arise for SMG offices globally as directed.
  • Work with Office Manager to identify and introduce new practices and procedures to improve efficiency.
  • Collect and distribute post and send out all outgoing mail.
  • Provide support and appropriate requirements/ arrangements for various SMG events and functions.

Business Development Executive

The Sales Support Executive is responsible for proactively identifying and engaging with prospective clients to introduce Stylus and set-up meetings on behalf of Business Development Managers, a key role within the New Business process ensuring regional teams hit performance and revenue targets.

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who have experience in selling into Media, Entertainment, Automotive and Technology industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand the profile of Stylus’ customer base and target markets and identify/prioritise the most likely prospects (customer competitors, similar size/nature businesses, key markets/business attributes, key job functions)
  • Market research to identify best people to contact within prospective client companies – ‘decision-makers’ – understanding their needs and how Stylus can benefit them
  • Proactively interact with prospective clients via telephone and email and document these communications clearly within the CRM system
  • Ability to articulate Stylus product offering and how it can be used as a business tool, knowing the most relevant types of report examples for particular prospect types and the relevant customer case studies to share
  • Secure 70 meetings per quarter for EMEA Business Development Managers 
  • Manage all inbound sales enquiries for your region, dealing directly or passing to relevant specialist / existing account owner
  • Assist in ad hoc data analysis and cleansing, pulling reports on personal and team performance, generally support the CRO if needed
  • Understand the wider remit of the sales and client services function, be able and willing to support its needs in general (administration and client support) in the absence of other team members, and/or peak work periods

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in a related role ideally gained in a design or marketing agency, familiarity with a CRM / sales automation system

  • Generating revenue for three flagship global events in Singapore, London and Miami.

Required Experience:

  • Proven ability to generate revenue through selling complex, consultative, big-ticket, sponsorship packages
  • Experienced in writing successful large, complex proposals tailored to the individual clients’ requirements
