Infrastructure Support Engineer

Stylus / London

We are looking for a Support Engineer to join our IT team. This role is responsible for handling first and second line support queries from our 100 employees (and growing) across our London and New York offices. This is a great opportunity for someone who has 1-2 years first line support experience looking for their next career move in a dynamic and changing organisation. 

Key responsibilities include:

1. Support

  • Be the first point of contact for problems (first/second line support)
  • Manage and complete all aspects of internal support queries, ranging from, hardware setup, email account set up and troubleshooting, to network queries and application issues
  • Manage and Support the internal mac server, backups and network, setting up new systems to help improve functionality or process
  • Ensure that all work undertaken in respect of problems are fully and promptly documented on the system (Assembla), in line with agreed parameters
  • Manage the new hire and leaver IT process including induction meetings.

2. External Support

  • Troubleshoot customer website issues (IE upgrade advice, browser plug-in advice, log in issues) as directed by the Senior Infrastructure Engineer to assist with prompt resolution of customer problems. 

3. Project Work

  • Assist the IT team in delivery of project work which could include laptop upgrades, remote working policy, Office 365 migration
  • Support Tableau (BI tool) queries
  • Create documentation where required
  • Bring new ideas to the table for process improvement.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Self-motivated and pro-active. The ability to learn and pickup new systems following guidance and support.
  • Knowledge of the following products: Apple and OSX 10.6+, PC and Windows 7+, MS Office and general applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), Presentation systems (PowerPoint, Keynote), Network technologies (TCP/IP), and Mobile device management (iPhone/Pad, Android)
  • Exposure to website maintenance (IIS, Apache)
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, PHP and / or C# is advantageous
  • Exposure to CMS (Wordpress, EpiServer)
  • Strong communication skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Strong problem solving skills, a keen interest in getting under the skin of an issue and looking for ways to improve working practices
  • A high level of organisation and efficiency
  • The flexibility required when working in a start-up environment
  • Be willing to undertake additional training of new or improved systems and products.

Food, Beverage & Hospitality Consultant (maternity leave cover)

Stylus / London

We are looking for an experienced writer and consultant who is an expert in the food, beverage, travel or hospitality industries to join our Content team on maternity leave cover. The contract will be for an initial 6 months with potential to extend. Part-time/flexible working considered. The main focus for this role will be to drive the creative strategy within the Food, Beverage & Hospitality (FB&H) directory, to develop quality content and advisory solutions in response to client needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing a key steering role for the FB&H directory’s content strategy in line with Chief Creative Officer’s vision and overall business strategy 
  • Oversee the planning and development of unique content across all formats (blogs, reports, presentations) for Stylus reflective of Stylus’ vision, current client and prospective customer interests and concerns
  • Manage sector/directory team, driving direction and setting standards for quality of content produced 
  • Oversee weekly publishing schedule and review regularly to ensure all content is delivered in accordance with client expectations. Actively contribute to the overall annual publishing schedule.
  • Assist in the sourcing and commissioning of freelancers as needed, providing regular detailed critiquing of their work to ensure work submitted and published adheres to Stylus standard

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Educated to at least degree level in a related discipline
  • 8+ years of subject expertise with a proven track record of success including client-facing experience
  • Experience of directing/managing an in-house team 
  • Robust network of relevant, current industry contacts (both retail and tangentially connected industries)
  • Strong awareness of future-facing trends and innovations that will impact the retail industry

Business Development Manager

We're looking for a Business Development Manager to help grow the Stylus client base and maximise revenue.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop a business plan for assigned territory or industry vertical, identifying key players and implementing strategy to bring new clients on board
  • Liaise with Marketing, Client Services, Advisory and Content teams to gain a forensic understanding of the Stylus product 
  • Operating a solution sales approach, apply industry knowledge to understand marketing, design, consumer and other related strategies or development areas a b2b client may have and develop proposals to best position Stylus as a solution to these issues
  • Autonomously manage end to end process of sales cycle from researching leads to closing deals with proven ability to multi-task across managing multiple clients at different points of the sales process
  • Operate a ‘volume’ approach to sales as well as cultivate longer term ‘C’ level relationships to extend client relationship into advisory services New business
  • Be a CRM ‘master’, recording all activity in Salesforce 

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Educated to at least degree level in related discipline
  • An experienced solution-seller with minimum 5- 10 years b2b sales experience, ideally gained in a variety of industries and preferably selling into b2b companies and agencies
  • A skilled and resilient influencer and negotiator who can work under pressure and who thrives on meeting deadlines and exceeding targets
  • A results-oriented, commercially savvy and natural problem solver – key to fully understanding and articulating the Stylus offering
  • Highly analytical with demonstrable experience in selling subscription products as well as one off consultancy projects

Client Services Manager, DACH

We are looking for a strategic German speaking Client Services Manager to join our London team to manage a portfolio of Stylus members based in the DACH region. This role is responsible for maintaining a high level of member renewals as well as strategically developing these accounts through upselling other Stylus services, such as Advisory.

Sales Support Executive, DACH

Stylus / London

The Sales Support Executive is responsible for proactively identifying and engaging with prospective clients – primarily in Germany, Austria and Switzerland - to introduce Stylus and set-up meetings on behalf of Business Development Managers, a key role within the New Business process ensuring regional teams hit performance and revenue targets.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Understand the profile of Stylus’ customer base and target markets and identify/prioritise the most likely prospects (customer competitors, similar size/nature businesses, key markets/business attributes, key job functions)
  • Market research to identify best people to contact within prospective client companies – ‘decision-makers’ – understanding their needs and how Stylus can benefit them
  • Proactively interact with prospective clients via telephone and email and document these communications clearly within the CRM system
  • Ability to articulate Stylus product offering and how it can be used as a business tool, knowing the most relevant types of report examples for particular prospect types and the relevant customer case studies to share
  • Secure 70 meetings per quarter for EMEA Business Development Managers
  • Manage all inbound sales enquiries for your region, dealing directly or passing to relevant specialist / existing account owner
  • Assist in ad hoc data analysis and cleansing, pulling reports on personal and team performance, generally support the CRO if needed
  • Understand the wider remit of the sales and client services function, be able and willing to support its needs in general (administration and client support) in the absence of other team members, and/or peak work periods

Required skills and qualifications:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in a related role ideally gained in a design or marketing agency, familiarity with a CRM / sales automation system
  • Fluent in German
  • Superior oral communication skills, excellent written skills and engaging presentation skills, with the ability to adapt any scripted communications to a specific conversation and react quickly to questions

Trends Reporter

We are looking for an ambitious trends-focused researcher and reporter to join our US Editorial team. You will help track US developments across categories for our London-based Content teams – feeding in research for key areas of interest as well as bringing your own ideas to the table, supporting Stylus’ unique business and consumer insights. 

This is an exciting opportunity for a New York-based self-starter who is passionate about exploring what’s new and evolving across a broad range of topics - from retail’s evolution, digital culture and product design to generational trends, the future of food and hospitality, and notable exhibitions. 

Strong research, writing, and analysis skills are essential, as is a broad knowledge base and keen interest in tracking what’s new locally in New York, nationally and globally. Your focus will be desk research, writing blog posts and some long-form reports, interviewing industry experts and covering industry events. Responsibilities also include work in the CMS (building blog posts and reports), as well as minimal administrative duties.

Senior Editor

Stylus / New York

We are looking for a journalist with a consumer and retail trends background to join our US content team. The Senior Editor will help to drive Stylus’ North American coverage. 

The ideal candidate will be an experienced writer, editor and researcher with an ability to pinpoint and analyze trends in consumer lifestyle across product categories and brand engagement. In-depth understanding of the US retail landscape is a must, as is an understanding of the US consumer psyche. Also essential is a good sense of how trends translate across industries, as you will work with all of Stylus’ content directories to expand our US insights. Strong communication and visual analysis skills, and the ability to take the initiative, are also important.  

Responsibilities, skills and experience:

  • Educated to at least degree level in a related discipline and/or a relevant journalism qualification, with 6-8+ years’ work experience in a relevant publishing or research environment 
  • Exceptional ideas generation and writing skills are essential; visual analysis skills a plus
  • Experience in an editorial capacity working within a fast-paced environment that requires juggling deadlines across both short and long-form content, ranging from daily blog posts and weekly reporting to long-term cross-sector trend analysis, as well as liaising closely with editors and other sections of the business
  • Will be responsible for developing US content strategy in collaboration with the rest of the US content team and in line with the Content & Creative Director’s vision and the overall business strategy 
  • The content you create, and your ability to research and report across multiple industries using established knowledge and contacts, will enhance our offering by bringing specific US insights to each Stylus directory (Retail, Food Beverage & Hospitality, Consumer Lifestyle, Fashion, Beauty, Media & Marketing, Product Design and Colour & Materials) 
  • The role includes coverage of relevant events, mostly NYC based with occasional travel. This will involve writing reports as well as speaking to experts and gathering research and inspiration for future reports
  • As a senior member of the global content team, you may occasionally represent Stylus at client meetings as well as regular Stylus and industry events
